Besides the chemical industry with its strong demand for carbon raw materials, the waste management sector also plays a central role in NK2 as a carbon supplier for chemical recycling. Furthermore, the processing industry (e.g. automotive industry), lightweight industry (i.e. carbon fiber waste) and the renewable energy sector (e.g. fiber-reinforced plastics from wind turbines) are also addressed. They are all potential providers of secondary carbon sources. Hence, their contribution to NK2 is highly welcomed and desired.
NK2 participants share the conviction that a circular carbon economy not only contributes to climate protection, it also has great potential for added value and new business models in Germany.
